What Is Ultimate Addons for Beaver Builder?
One of the tools that allows us to really take advantage of Beaver Builder’s full potential is a plugin called Ultimate Addons for Beaver Builder, or UABB.
A plugin is just a piece of code that performs a specific function so that a user can avoid reinventing the wheel every time they want to add a row, or in this case design a webpage.
UABB offers several flexible modules that allow for detailed customization to meet any and all design needs.
When building from the front-end using Beaver Builder, you’re presented with a layout that has rows and columns.
UABB gives designers some of those prebuilt tools called modules that can be dragged, dropped and then customized.
As an example, The first step in designing a page is to add a heading (H1).
To do this using UABB, we login to WordPress by adding /wp-admin to the end of the home page URL.
Once logged in, navigate to pages on the left side of the admin view.
If you want to add a new page, click add new at the top, or we can edit an existing page by hovering over the name of the page and then clicking Beaver Builder.
Once the page is opened, navigate to the top right corner of the screen and click on the plus (+).
This will open a menu and display some of the tools that come standard with Beaver Builder. You’ll also see some of the built in WordPress widgets.
Towards the top of the menu there’s a bar that says “standard modules”.
Click on that and select “UABB modules”. This will display all of the modules that come inside this plugin.
The first thing you’ll notice is there are plenty to work with and it can be a little overwhelming.
To better tackle all these modules, designers at Linkasaur do two things: We always have a mockup that details exactly what the page should look like, including pictures, animations, everything.
The other thing is we explore all the modules over at www.uabb.com. They have examples and demos of each of the modules.
These are super helpful to our designers to help them understand what we can do.
What’s within the realm of possibility with each tool?
The majority of what we build is done with these tools, but occasionally we do use our own custom plugin or code to get the design just right.
Returning back to how to use UABB, select a module, in this example we’ll select the Heading module.
Click and drag the module over to the page where blue outlines should appear.
Release and the module will populate the space where you dropped it.
Once the module populates, a menu will appear.
Inside this menu you can edit the text that’s being displayed and other settings by using the top bar inside the module.
In this case we can change the text and then change it to an H1 in the typography section.
This is a simple example, but it illustrates how Linkasaur builds using Beaver Builder and UABB.
We prefer to build this way for our clients, because it allows them to make changes to their website after we hand it off.
By doing this, we make sure that your website is really yours and you can do whatever you want to it!
While you can make any changes you want, we do recommend continuing to consult with Linkasaur on bigger changes.
There are a few tricks and tools we use to make sure that all the pieces interact the way they should.
Just remember if you make a change on your website without consulting Linkasaur your results may vary!
